Sandra Dennison is an accomplished professional artist, who works in many types of media. Her paintings range from realism to bold and colorful abstracts. Sandra's paintings are in private and permanent collections throughout the United States. She is basically self-taught with a little fine-tuning by some of the most talented local artists. Sandra's painting focus greatly on the play of color from light and dark. Her works are featured in national magazines, such as Artist Magazine's articles, "Fanning The Flame" and "No One Under 21 Admitted". Sandra's oil paintings have been featured in the Akron Arts and Leisure magazine's article "True to Life". Sandra’s has won many accolades and awards for her work, from Colorado to New York. In the past few years she has developed a zest for conceptual abstract. Allowing the flow of color and design to lead her mind and soul into the life of the paintings. An excitement and challenge she fulfills in the world of art.
Throughout the years she has acquired the ability to render silver, glass and the softness of fabric in a very realistic style. She focuses on capturing the dramatic contrasts between light and dark in the style of the Old Dutch masters. In addition to teaching at Brecksville Center for the Arts Sandra also teaches at Cuyahoga Valley Art Center. She is a member of The Crooked River Gang that manages the gallery, MD Garage, Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Boston, Ohio and is also a life member of the limited society of The Whiskey Painters of America.
